The Trek Begins

Today felt like the adventure properly began.
The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was incredible. We had a beautifully clear morning, with huge views across the Himalayas as we flew deeper into the mountains. Landing at Lukla was an experience in itself… and one we won’t forget quickly.
From there, we started our first day on the trail towards Phakding. The weather stayed perfect: blue skies, sunshine and amazing views all around us. It was a relatively gentle first day, but it finally felt real to be walking through the Khumbu after so much planning and preparation.
Tonight we’re staying in Phakding. We finished the day playing poker, laughing, and getting to know Raz, our guide, a little better. It already feels like the group is settling into the rhythm of the trek and starting to bond.
