Final Preparations

Today felt like the point where this stopped being a plan and became real.

We started with our gear check and expedition briefing, then picked up the last few trekking essentials in Kathmandu.

Later we visited the Monkey Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath, where Hindu cremations were taking place beside the river. It was powerful, humbling and a reminder to appreciate the time we have and the people we share it with.

Tonight the bags are packed and there’s a mix of excitement, nerves and anticipation among the five of us.

Tomorrow we fly to Lukla.

The adventure really begins.
